Review
The Aer Sports Duffel Max is a 45-liter version of the 35L Sports Duffel. Both use the same build: 1680D ballistic nylon, ventilation holes, adjustable internal dividers, a padded crossbody strap and a main compartment that opens wide. The Max keeps that design intact and simply adds 10 liters, which suits athletes with bulky equipment or anyone who wants more freedom when packing.
Specs
It measures 13.75 x 19 x 9 inches (34.9 x 48.3 x 22.9 cm), with CORDURA ballistic nylon and ripstop nylon that meet bluesign criteria, YKK zippers and Duraflex hardware. Carry-on figures come from manufacturer dimensions compared with airline limits and should be treated as a rough guide, since packed bags change shape and airlines vary.
Space and organization
The extra size is more obvious inside than out. Being taller and wider, the Max gives larger kits noticeably more usable room: shoes can stand upright or lie flat, and clothes, toiletries and other gear spread out without filling the bag quickly. The movable dividers remain a highlight, letting equipment be kept apart or pushed aside to create one big open space, a valuable trait given how much kit varies from sport to sport.
Laptop sleeve
The Max fixes a weakness of the smaller model. The standard Sports Duffel's sleeve is rated only for 11-inch devices, whereas the larger compartment here holds 13- or 14-inch laptops more comfortably. That still does not make it a true gym-to-office bag, but it is a worthwhile upgrade for occasionally carrying a laptop or tablet.
Drawbacks
It remains a sports duffel first rather than an organized commuter bag. The only exterior storage is a single zippered rear pocket, and there is no dedicated water bottle pocket, an odd omission for a gym bag.
Verdict
The sturdy crossbody strap keeps a fully packed bag comfortable to carry, and the rugged build should handle regular use. For athletes with larger or bulkier gear, the Aer Sports Duffel Max is the better choice over the standard version thanks to its extra capacity and improved laptop fit.

Bellroy's Laneway Daily Pouch is a well-made, padded mini organizer that stands up on its own, though its internal pockets feel unnecessary at this size and the price is hard to justify.
